Career Planning Guide for Potential
Engineers Will Be Updated
First published in June 1998, Engineering Your Future: a career planning guide in engineering has been distributed by APEGGA’s Outreach Program to high school and university students ever since. However, the information contained in it regarding accredited engineering programs at Western Canadian universities is now out of date.
In particular, the guide does not reflect the fact that the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Calgary has for some time offered degrees in oil and gas engineering, computer engineering and software engineering. This oversight, and other program changes that have occurred at other Canadian post-secondary institutions, will be addressed through an addendum to be inserted in any copies distributed in the future.
Plans are to develop a new engineering career planning guide for distribution in 2006, and it will be kept current through the use of an insert for this kind of information.
